Who I Work With
Areas of Focus & Service Limitations

This page outlines the kinds of concerns I support, as well as the types of presentations I don’t currently work with so you can make informed decisions about your care.
I invite you to take your time exploring this information to see if my services align with your needs.

What I Offer Support With &
Special Interest Areas

I work with adults who are navigating a range of emotional and relational challenges. You might be feeling anxious, flat, disconnected, or caught in patterns that are hard to shift, even if things seem to be “working” in most areas of your life.

Some of the people I work with have been feeling this way for a long time and want to finally make sense of it. Others aren’t sure exactly “what’s wrong”, just that something feels off, or harder than it should be. Others know what the issue is, yet find themselves stuck. You might be questioning your direction, feeling misunderstood in relationships, or finding that familiar ways of coping no longer work as well.

Some of the areas I commonly work with include (and are not limited to):

  • Anxiety, including generalised anxiety, social anxiety, excessive worry, “high-functioning”, either situational or long-standing.
  • Stress Management and Burnout
  • Carer Fatigue (e.g., emotional exhaustion)
  • Relationship and Interpersonal Difficulties, including communication issues, conflict, and emotional disconnection.
  • Low mood, Apathy and symptoms of Depression that impact motivation and well-being.
  • Expats and Culturally Sensitive Therapy, including support for Italian-speaking adults.
  • Self-Reflection and Personal Growth.
  • Life Transitions and Adjustment Difficulties, including relocation, separation, career change etc.
  • Emotion regulation challenges (e.g., overwhelm, emotional shutdown).
  • Late-Diagnosed Adult ADHD (including Assessment).
  • Perfectionism and Unrelenting Standards.
  • Workplace challenges (e.g., maintaining work/life balance, managing self-doubt, maintaining boundaries etc).
  • Self-Worth and Self-Esteem challenges, including persistent self-doubt and inner criticism.
  • Sense of Identity and Personality Issues.
  • Assertiveness and boundary-setting (e.g., “people-pleasing”, difficulty expressing needs).

My approach might suit you if:

  • You feel the need and curiosity to understand yourself better, or want a space to pause, reflect and check in with yourself.
  • You’re navigating life changes, stress, or emotional difficulties and need support.
  • You are looking for a space to ‘make sense’ of your experiences, process emotions, and gain clarity.
  • You often feel anxious, overwhelmed, or low, and you’re not sure why. Or perhaps you do know why but you still feel stuck. Perhaps you are recognizing recurring patterns that keep you feeling this way.
  • You experience relationship challenges and want to improve communication and connection.
  • You need practical strategies to manage stress, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm, or:
  • You feel well-equipped with practical strategies, but they don’t seem to be enough.

Service Limitations

I want to make sure you receive the care that’s best suited to your needs. As a sole practitioner offering telehealth, there may be times when a different service, practitioner, or in-person support might better meet your needs due to the specific nature of my services and my scope of practice.

I am unfortunately unable to assist if you’re currently seeking support for:

  • Concerns such as suicidality, psychosis, or bipolar disorder;
  • Severe substance/alcohol abuse and/or addiction;
  • Eating disorders as a primary concerns, particularly cases that require team-based or medical support;
  • Individuals with reduced capacity to give consent (e.g., cognitive impairments);
  • Court reports, legal letters, other specific services for legal matters, or medico-legal assessments;
  • Therapy and services funded through WorkCover and DVA;
  • Couples or Family Therapy.
  • Children and Adolescents.

In those cases, other practitioners or services might be better suited to your needs. There may be other limitations to the services I offer, depending on individual needs and circumstances. If that’s the case, I’ll do my best to help guide you to the right support.

Crescent Psychology Practice is not an emergency or crisis service and consultations are by appointment only. If you require immediate assistance, please consider reaching out to your GP, the Mental Health Line or to immediate support lines (for a list of some available supports, please visit this page). If you are concerned for your personal or others’ safety, please dial 000 or visit your nearest hospital without delay.
